WILLIAM C. ROBB

Bill Robb was the Deputy Clerk in charge of the Northern Division of the Clerk’s office for the Northern District of California, in Sacramento. The number of Deputy Clerks under his supervision varied from two to five. When the Eastern District of California was created in September of 1966, he became the first Clerk of Court. As such, he became responsible for the offices in both Sacramento and Fresno.

JAMES R. GRINDSTAFF

Jim Grindstaff was born in Elizabethton, Tennessee on June 17, 1937. After serving as a Yeoman in the Navy from 1954 to 1958, and working at McClellan Aif Force Base as a mechanic helper, he came to work for the Clerk’s office in Sacramento in May of 1960 for a starting salary of $4,340 per year.

Upon Bill Robb’s retirement, he was promoted to Clerk of the Court, and served as such until his own retirement in 1990.

JACK WAGNER

Jack Wagner was formerly the Clerk of the U. S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California, before moving to Sacramento to serve as Clerk of the District Court from 1990 to 2006. Upon his retirement, he moved to Hawaii.
